A lovely collection of hooded scarf and cowl crochet patterns. It has nice photos of all the scoodies and they're all such nice vibrant colourful shades. There's so many that I can't wait to make and it'll be made easier by the clear and easy instructions provided. My favourites are evergreen, blue velvet mix and match and rockabilly (with its cute cherry red bow). Would definitely highly recommend this book!!

This book is unique in that not only are the designs contemporary but are also refreshingly wearable and serviceable whilst still making an amazing fashion statement. They are going to be the item of the winter season and these designs are up there with the best!

What an amazing book! Fantastic ideas featuring an amalgamation of scarves and hoods. Sensible and warm , but oh so attractive and fashionable at the moment. Everybody wants one! There is enough material here to keep crocheters of all abilities happy for a long time producing a wonderful array of useful garments. Presents taken care of for a long time, that is, if you can bear to part with them.
The presentation is excellent, with clear photographs. Instructions are graded to the abilities of the crafter. They are quick to make and easy to construct and there is a wealth of choice.
For the more experienced crafter, there are ample opportunities to blend yarns from the stash together to make truly unique items and also great opportunities for the hand spinner to use those fabulous one offs of small quantities which often languish in the bottom of the yarn basket for want of ideas.
The graphic how to instructions at the back of the book are clear and easy to understand.
In all, a great book for all levels of skill. I love my copy and looking forward to the next edition!

I was fortunate to win a copy via a twitter giveaway, Myself & my daughter are always looking at fun craft activities to do on a wet day so receiving a copy of crocheted scoodies was great. We have never attempted to Crochet before and found this book perfect for a beginner the instructions are so easy to follow. We are still in the learning phase but will hopefully be able to complete a pattern and make our own Scoodies very soon.

What a fantastic book. As a complete crocheting newbie, I was a bit worried at 1st, as to whether all these patterns would be completely above me.
With 20 different patterns there is something for every level.
Love it!!

rocheted Scoodies 20 Gorgeous Hooded Scarves and cowls to crochet. I have been looking for a book like this for some time, I wanted patterns that were different and even a little "new age" and I certainly found that with this book.
Magdalena Melzer and Anne Thiemeyer have come up with a fabulous new range of the now popular "Scoodie" they are all vibrant and chunky perfect to keep you warm in the colder months and also to accessorise and brighten up your own outfits. All of the patterns are done on two sizes of crochet, so you don't need/have to buy loads of different hooks. The basic crochet guide for beginners is at the rear of the book, though in my opinion you do need to have a basic idea of how to crochet before starting this book. That is me so I shall be trying them with great interest and enthusiasm. The patterns themselves are clearing marked with difficulty levels of 1 - beginner, then levels 2 and 3 as you improve your technique.
There is also a useful section on how to make Pom Pom and Tassel accessories for your creations!
The book itself is a practical size, with loads of colourful photos to drawn you in, each pattern has been given a cute theme name like "rockabilly"
"Ice Age" and so on with adds to its overall charm. This book gets a big thumbs up from me - so I'm off to improve my new hobby!

This is a great book for both experienced crocheters and beginners too. It has 20 patterns for different scarves/snoods/scoodies/hats/cowls in it. Each pattern is shown using beautiful colour photos of the completed product and different styles to wear it.
Each pattern has plenty of information and detail including a difficulty rating and all measurements and clear instructions. At the back of the book there are pattern charts for each style.
It also has a section at the back showing how to do the different styles of crochet - all illustrated to make following the instructions easy and simple.
I am excited to try making some of the items and I think they will make excellent handmade christmas / birthday gifts.

I was excited to get this book and it hasn't let me down! First of all for those that haven't come across these before, they are basically a combination of a scarf and a hoodie.
The book consists of pattern for 20 hooded scarves and there is a level of difficulty for each design. Each Scoodies is crocheted with no more than 2 sizes of hooks.
I think the book is an excellent purchase for beginners or more advanced alike.
I would highly recommend it to anyone who who love to make these beautiful hooded scarves!

Before reading this book I was a total newbie to crocheting, I was looking for a book with projects to challenge my abilities and yet still be obtainable when I have no experience of the craft. There is a decent sized section of the book dedicated solely to explaining how to create the various stitches needed to make the crocheted scoodies. This is at the back of the book, so if you are more experienced you can simply skip this part and get on with making the glorious projects.
The patterns really are exquisite, they use such a beautiful combination of colours and wools. Crocheting might have a reputation for being associated with an older generation but this book firmly quashes that myth, as the book remains modern and stylish with stunning photography throughout the book so that you can really get a feel for each of the designs before you decide on making one.
This book is worth it's weight in gold to me, as it has helped me create my very first crocheted item. I will definitely be making more from this book. Highly recommended!

Beautiful designs, with very clear instructions and pictures. Ideal for all levels of crocheting. I would have liked to see an alternative to the wool used, ie double, chunky, but thats a personal thing. This is a great book for everyone.

Scoodies are becoming more popular as they are so versatile and are a fantastic to keep you warm in winter. This book brings you 20 hooded scarves and cowls for you to crochet. You really can't complain about the value
for money! The thing I like the most about this book is that each of the designs are different from the last.
Using different yarns, stitches and colours they are all different. Each of the designs has a level of difficulty
so there is something for every level of crocheter. At the back of the book is a how it's done guide including pictures as well as charts for some of the designs. The patterns are in written format and are really easy to follow. Some of the designs are more practical and some of the others are practical and huge fun.
I love the idea of having different ones to go with different things in my wardrobe. They would also make fantastic gifts. I really like this book and it's one that I will be making a number of projects from.

'Scoodie' is a combination of a scarf and hoodie and these 20 designs are fabulous fashion accessories, using only two sizes of crochet hook for every design. The chunky crocheted yarns will keep both neck and head wonderfully warm and cosy. The projects range from classy and chic to more casual and creative and are graded with something for everyone.
