She studied painting at the Guildford School of Art and the Royal Academy of Painting in London. Hazel lives in a small village in the Peak District, and divides her time between painting and writing art instruction books.

This title attempts to cover as many drawing techniques as possible. The book is split into four sections: monochrome media, colour media, mixed media and digital drawing. Readers won't learn advanced techniques from the digital section, but if you want to learn to use a new medium, this explains the basics well.
